Liping Wang

Biography:

Liping Wang joined SIAT in 2009, where he is now director of the Brain Cognition and Brain Disease Institute of SIAT. He is also the founder and director of Shenzhen Key Lab of Neuropsychiatric Modulation and Guangdong Key Lab of Brain Connectomics. He received his Ph.D. in medical neuroscience from Charite -Universitatsmedizin Berlin  with Prof. Dr. Helmut Kettenmann at the Department of Cellular Neurosciences, Max-Delbruck-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in 2005 and did his postdoctoral work at the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University with Prof. Dr. Karl Deisseroth from 2005 to 2008. He is a winner of ""Ten Thousand Plan"" - National high level talents special support plan (2016), “middle-aged leading scientists, engineers and innovators” (2014), “National natural science fund for distinguished young scholars”(2014), and “Hundred Talent Program”(2010).



Education:
2002-2005, PhD degree in medical neuroscience from Charite-University Medicine, Berlin, Germany, with Prof. Dr. Helmut Kettenmann at the Department of Cellular Neurosciences, Max-Delbruck-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC).


Postdoctoral Training:

2005-2008, Postdoctoral research at the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University with Prof. Dr. Karl Deisseroth.


Academic Appointment:

2009-present, Associate Professor, Professor, Director, The Brain Cognition and Brain Disease Institute.
